Goodwinds Composites’ wrapped carbon tubes are manufactured by wrapping resin-preimpregnated carbon fiber around a mandrel and heat curing the layup. Available in cylindrical and tapered forms, they can be tailored for stiffness, hoop strength and multidirectional loads and are ideal for UAV structures and landing gear. The range includes standard and intermediate-modulus options, with matte, unidirectional and twill finishes depending on the product.
Catalog cylindrical tubes span outer diameters of 0.198 to 1.007 inches and lengths of 30 to 60 inches. Tapered models have lengths from 32 to 40 inches, with large-end outer diameters ranging from 0.265 to 0.830 inches and small-end outer diameters from 0.160 to 0.485 inches.
Goodwinds specializes in small-batch production and offers custom roll-wrapped tubes under 4 inches in diameter. Length, taper, wall thickness and material layup can be adjusted for the application, with engineering assistance available to develop a custom component from an initial stock-tube prototype.
