Sentinel is an underwater Intruder Detection Sonar (IDS) engineered to detect, classify, and track subsea threats approaching protected maritime assets and coastal infrastructure. Designed for use across ports, naval facilities, offshore energy sites, commercial vessels, and critical national infrastructure, the system provides continuous underwater surveillance against divers, swimmer delivery vehicles, mini-subs, and Unmanned Underwater Vehicles (UUVs). Sentinel IDS utilizes Simultaneous In-band Active and Passive Sonar (SInAPS®) technology to capture acoustic signatures and detailed sonar imagery simultaneously, delivering enhanced underwater situational awareness and reliable target identification across complex marine environments.
Built for scalable maritime security operations, Sentinel IDS supports permanent and rapidly deployable installations with mounting options for harbour walls, piers, and seabed infrastructure. Advanced onboard processing algorithms automatically distinguish legitimate threats from marine life and environmental interference, significantly reducing false alarms while tracking hundreds of contacts in real time. The system provides detection ranges of up to 1000 meters for divers and 1500 meters for underwater vehicles, with support for networked deployments of up to ten sonar heads through a unified tactical display. Open API architecture and integrated command-and-control compatibility allow Sentinel IDS to operate seamlessly within modern maritime and unmanned security ecosystems without requiring specialist sonar operators.
