SeapiX-R

SeapiX-R is a solid-state 3D multibeam echosounder from Exail developed for scientific research, biomass assessment, water column analysis, and seabed mapping applications. Designed to provide accurate volumetric coverage of the underwater environment, the system combines advanced acoustic processing with calibrated measurement capabilities for quantitative and qualitative marine observation. Its dual Mills Cross multibeam architecture enables real-time three-dimensional visualization and geo-referenced analysis of fish populations, underwater habitats, gas emissions, and seabed structures across a wide 120° x 120° coverage area.

Engineered for fisheries research, biomass monitoring, gas leakage surveillance, and underwater volcanic degassing studies, SeapiX-R delivers target strength (TS), volume backscattering strength (SV), bathymetry, and backscatter measurements with no blind zone. The system supports in-situ calibration using a standard tungsten sphere and offers electronically steerable transmission and reception modes for adaptable survey configurations. Highly configurable installation and data visualization options enable deployment on poles, hulls, buoys, or fixed monitoring stations while supporting real-time data export and interpretation workflows for scientific and environmental monitoring operations.
