BEAM 3.0 is a modular, low-SWaP electronic attack system that detects, identifies, locates and direction-finds modern small UAS and associated communications devices. The backpackable system surveys the surrounding spectrum for drone control links, range extenders, push-to-talk radios, Wi-Fi, Mode-S/ADS-B, Bluetooth and analog or digital video signals. Its direction-finding capabilities improve the accuracy with which signals and their sources can be located across the operating environment.
BEAM 3.0 can operate independently or as part of a self-forming mesh network of multiple units. The self-healing mobile ad hoc network adapts automatically to disconnected, degraded, intermittent and bandwidth-limited conditions. A single operator can control the network remotely, increasing detection and mitigation coverage and enabling distributed electronic attack. Local control and remote C2 operation are both available, and the open modular architecture allows BEAM to exchange information with external sensors, command-and-control software and kinetic effectors.
The system can be configured for dismounted, mobile, maritime, static or airborne deployment. Its ATAK-based interface displays drone and operator locations to enhance situational awareness, and an extensive threat library enables tailored defeat techniques for different UAS. Remote software upgrades provide threat-library updates and algorithm improvements.
