Kaonic 1S Software-Defined Radio

The Kaonic 1S is an advanced SDR (software-defined radio) module and development kit that is designed to integrate seamlessly into both tactical and commercial UAVs, UGVs and unmanned systems to provide low-latency command & control and decentralized mesh networking capabilities.

The dual-transceiver radio module offers operation on both sub-GHz (862-928 MHz) and 2.4 GHz bands, enabling flexible deployment. Supporting advanced multi-band MIMO configurations and cryptographic protocols, it delivers robust performance in challenging and contested environments. Each unit provides four u.FL antenna ports and integrated 2.4 GHz antennas, and an optional FRX frequency extender expands operation to 300 - 2000 MHz with internal 1W power amplification or external up to 8W.

The Kaonic 1S is powered by the STM32MP1 MPU, running Yocto Linux and incorporating the Reticulum mesh protocol, for up to 128 hops with full end-to-end encryption. Additional capabilities include support for MAVLink telemetry, ATAK integration, and encrypted geospatial messaging, and an expansion slot is available for FPGA-based data rate enhancement and custom DSP processing.

The rugged system is MIL-STD-461 compliant and can be provided with an optional rugged shock-resistant enclosure that meets IP67 standards for dust and moisture protection.
