The Vyxalon™ Apex Drone Drive is an Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) engineered for professional UAV propulsion systems where efficient power conversion, responsive motor control, and dependable operation are critical. Its Gallium Nitride (GaN) power architecture works with high-speed Field-Oriented Control (FOC), supporting PWM switching at up to 100 kHz and current and velocity control loops at 25 kHz. Powered by Allient Intelligent Controls (AiC), the drive supports both sensorless and encoder-based FOC, provides zero-to-full-speed acceleration in 0.5 seconds, and incorporates active braking, propeller position holding, and stall recovery with maintained field orientation.
The GaN-based design can reduce energy losses by up to 56% compared with conventional silicon MOSFET architectures, helping unmanned aircraft make more effective use of available onboard power while limiting heat generation. Compact power electronics can also reduce controller size by up to 50%, supporting integration into UAV platforms where space and weight are tightly constrained. Low-noise, low-vibration motor operation further supports stable flight and payload performance, while the drive’s control and connectivity options enable integration with a range of professional unmanned-system architectures.
