GuRu Wireless attended the MOSA Industry & Government Summit & Expo in National Harbor, Maryland, where it demonstrated its wireless power beaming technology for persistent small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
During the event, the company operated two drones indoors while wirelessly recharging them in flight, demonstrating operation without battery swaps, landings or a physical tether. GuRu Wireless has also demonstrated the technology outdoors at operational altitude, continuously recharging a Group 1 UAS during flight.

The company’s power beaming system uses a ground-based Generation Unit built around a software-steered 24 GHz phased array to transmit focused radio frequency (RF) energy. A compact onboard Recovery Unit receives the energy, converts it into regulated DC power and supplies the aircraft’s battery or power management system.
Closed-loop tracking maintains alignment with moving aircraft, while GuRu’s beamforming and RF lensing technology enables energy to be directed and concentrated at range.
GuRu Wireless states that its technology has reached Technology Readiness Level 6 (TRL 6) and has demonstrated more than 96 hours of continuous drone flight with wireless recharging at 200 feet.
The company’s Long Range Wireless Power Beaming platform is designed to extend small UAS endurance through in-flight charging, supporting applications including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), communications, industrial inspection and maritime surveillance.
