Finnish defence technology developer Arctic RAVN has secured €2.5 million in convertible loan commitments to accelerate the production and development of European-sourced drone electronics.
The convertible loan round, launched in October, surpassed its original €2 million target in five days. A venture studio company of Finnish Defence House, Arctic RAVN focuses on meeting the growing regional demand for critical defence components. All of the company’s products are designed and manufactured in Finland, relying exclusively on parts sourced from Europe and NATO-allied nations.
The new financing will back product development and manufacturing scale-up, following more than one million euros already invested in expanding production lines for the company’s electronic speed controllers. Arctic RAVN is targeting the delivery of tens of thousands of units by the end of 2026, noting that a significant share of this initial volume has already been reserved by customers across the European defence sector.
Matti Vansén, CEO of Arctic RAVN, said, “Investors committed to the round within days, even though we have not yet officially launched a single product. Follow-up orders and discussions with several leading defence manufacturers indicate a need for high-performance European drone electronics. We are now scaling our manufacturing capabilities for industrial-level output and strengthening Europe’s ability to produce critical drone electronics.”
Following the initial expansion of its speed controller manufacturing, the company plans to direct its next ramp-up toward flight controllers. Over the longer term, Arctic RAVN aims to scale its manufacturing infrastructure to support an annual output of up to two million circuit boards.
