The newly debuted BD1090, BD1092, BD1092i, and BX1092i receiver modules leverage Trimble’s Maxwell 8 technology to tackle modern signal security threats and high-stress operating environments.
A key capability of the platform is Trimble JammerGuard, an automated, independent anti-jamming and anti-spoofing defense mechanism engineered to protect against full-spectrum signal interference. The updated platform builds on existing positioning engines and features, including Trimble ProPoint, IonoGuard disruption protection, and RTX-NMA satellite signal authentication.

Hardware enhancements within the Maxwell 8 architecture include a quad-core CPU with DDR4 RAM, delivering four times the processing power of its predecessor to support complex sensor fusion and heavy calculations. To improve performance in high-vibration applications, the receivers integrate MEMS-based oscillators that reduce vibration sensitivity tenfold. The boards also feature expanded all-in-view channel capacity for simultaneous multi-constellation tracking, an upgraded IMU for enhanced orientation stability, and architectural readiness for emerging Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellations such as Xona Pulsar.
Field testing by international marine contractor Van Oord highlights the operational impact of the updated receiver architecture in challenging regions.
