Aero Tec Laboratories has manufactured specialized fuel bladder tanks for Brontanax, a platform described as the UK’s first British-designed autonomous Collaborative Combat Aircraft.
Unveiled by BAE Systems at the Farnborough International Airshow, the Brontanax programme incorporates contributions from more than 75 UK companies. The uncrewed aircraft combines autonomous flight, open-system architecture, and modular design to operate alongside crewed fighter aircraft as an adaptable, cost-effective capability.
Engineered at ATL’s 105,000-square-foot facility in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, the lightweight flexible fuel bladder solutions are built to support demanding mission requirements as the platform progresses through ongoing testing and development.
The project demonstrates a new approach to developing air combat capabilities, enabling rapid technology integration and operational flexibility while supporting the evolution of next-generation military aircraft and strengthening the UK’s sovereign defense industrial base.
