Volatus Aerospace Inc. has operationalized a 53,000-square-foot manufacturing and systems integration facility at Montreal-Mirabel International Airport to establish sovereign Canadian production capacity for advanced autonomous systems.
Situated within the YMX Innovation Centre in one of North America’s established aerospace hubs, the site supports the development, manufacturing, and integration of autonomous systems and related technologies. Active production is already underway, with drone docking stations currently rolling off the line and being delivered to commercial customers. The next phase of the facility’s operational ramp-up will begin shortly with the manufacturing of Volatus’ V-Series aircraft.
The expansion strengthens the company’s operational infrastructure to accelerate commercialization and satisfy growing demand from commercial, public safety, industrial, and defense sectors across Canada, NATO, and NATO allies. The facility aligns with national and international investments in aerospace modernization, directly supporting objectives outlined in Canada’s Defence Industrial Strategy to build sovereign capacity, accelerate innovation, and fortify domestic manufacturing in critical technology sectors.
