ARK Electronics has introduced the ARKV6S Flight Controller, a compact, USA-built and NDAA-compliant autopilot solution designed for unmanned systems developers.
Based on the FMUV6X and Pixhawk Autopilot Bus (PAB) open-source specifications, the ARKV6S combines industrial-grade sensing technology with broad ecosystem compatibility, supporting both PX4 Autopilot and ArduPilot firmware. The controller ships with PX4 installed by default and can be configured for ArduPilot-based systems as required.
Designed around the Pixhawk Autopilot Bus form factor, the ARKV6S can be integrated with any compatible PAB carrier board, enabling flexible deployment across a wide range of aerial and robotic platforms.
At the heart of the flight controller is the STM32H743IIK6 microcontroller, providing processing speeds of up to 480 MHz alongside 2 MB of flash memory and 1 MB of RAM. The high-performance architecture delivers the computational capability required for advanced autonomous operations, sensor fusion, navigation, and mission execution.
The ARKV6S incorporates a carefully selected suite of industrial-grade sensors to ensure reliable performance in demanding operating environments. These include the Invensense IIM-42653 industrial inertial measurement unit (IMU), the Bosch BMP390 barometric pressure sensor, and the ST IIS2MDC magnetometer.
To enhance reliability in harsh environmental conditions, the controller integrates a dedicated 1 W heater capable of maintaining sensor performance during operation in extreme cold-weather environments. This feature helps improve measurement stability and system readiness in applications where temperature fluctuations can impact sensor accuracy.
Additional onboard features include non-volatile FRAM storage, LED status indicators, and a MicroSD card slot for data logging and mission recording. Each ARKV6S is supplied with a MicroSD card, allowing developers to begin logging flight data immediately.
Manufactured in the United States, the flight controller is NDAA compliant, making it well suited to government, defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure applications that require trusted supply chain sourcing and regulatory compliance.
With its combination of open-source compatibility, industrial-grade sensing, compact PAB architecture, and trusted domestic manufacturing, the ARKV6S provides UAV developers and system integrators with a versatile flight control solution for next-generation autonomous platforms.
