ARK Electronics has launched the ARK G5 P8 RTK GPS, a DroneCAN module built around Septentrio’s mosaic-G5 P8 receiver, combining high-precision positioning with enhanced resilience against GNSS interference.
The module incorporates Septentrio’s AIM+ Ultimate technology, providing protection against GNSS jamming and spoofing, alongside interference situational awareness and end-to-end authentication for secure operations.
Supporting all-in-view, multi-constellation, quad-band satellite tracking, the G5 P8 offers configurable single- or dual-antenna operation, including dual-antenna heading capability. The receiver also supports raw data output, low latency, and update rates of up to 100 Hz.
Alongside its GNSS capabilities, the module integrates an ST IIS2MDC magnetometer, Bosch BMP390 barometer, InvenSense ICM-42688-P six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU), and buzzer. Additional hardware features include two Pixhawk-standard CAN connectors, USB-C connectivity, support for DroneCAN firmware updates, and LED indicators for GPS fix, RTK status, and system status.
Manufactured in the United States and NDAA compliant, the G5 P8 measures 48.0 × 40.0 × 15.4 mm and weighs 13 g without an antenna. It operates from a 4.6–5.4 V supply, with configurations available for no antenna, one antenna, or two antennas.
