LiveU and the non-profit program DRONERESPONDERS have entered a strategic partnership to advance the integration of high-quality, real-time video transmission within public safety drone operations.
The collaboration focuses on the “Drones For Good” movement, addressing the mission-critical requirement for reliable, low-latency video feeds from the field to command-and-control centers. By utilizing LiveU’s proprietary LRT (LiveU Reliable Transport) protocol, agencies can stream encrypted, high-definition footage over aggregated cellular, WiFi, and satellite networks. This IP-bonding technology is designed to maintain stable connectivity even in bandwidth-congested disaster zones where traditional networks may fail.
As a leader in live IP-video solutions, LiveU already provides various public safety agencies with a common operating picture (COP) by delivering critical video from drones to the cloud. DRONERESPONDERS works to advance public safety UAS, C-UAS, and Advanced Air Mobility. Together, the organizations will focus on bridging the gap between aerial data collection and real-time decision-making for law enforcement, homeland security, and disaster recovery.
Jared Brody, Public Safety Business Development at LiveU, said, “Our mission has always been to support first responders with the most reliable tool sets, in order to get the best common operating picture on the ground or in the air, in real time. Partnering with DRONERESPONDERS allows us to directly support the dedicated individuals using UAS technology to save lives and protect communities in a more coordinated way.”
The partnership includes several key initiatives, such as joint educational programming through webinars and the UAS National Initiative for Training and Education (UNITE) program. LiveU will also conduct operational demonstrations of portable encoders, including the LU-REQON1 and LU900Q, integrated with leading public safety drone platforms at upcoming industry events such as OHCON, NCCOM, CALCON, and TEXCON.
Jason Day, Deputy Director for DRONERESPONDERS, added, “Real-time video intelligence has become a cornerstone of modern incident command. The ability to securely deliver reliable, low–latency video from unmanned aircraft to command staff in the field and at operations centers is essential for maintaining situational awareness, improving coordination, and supporting informed decision–making during critical incidents. A resilient video transport layer ensures that actionable intelligence reaches the right people at the right moment, even in complex or high–risk environments.”
Through this sponsorship, LiveU will support the DRONERESPONDERS mission to enhance officer safety and build more resilient communities by providing technical insights and best practices for live streaming in high-stakes environments.
The DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Forum is co-located at Xponential 2026, Detroit, Michigan from May 12-14.
