Sentrycs has launched HORIZON, an advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered counter-drone solution designed to detect DIY drones in real time, including those that have previously evaded detection.

This technology leverages advanced machine learning to analyze the radio frequency (RF) spectrum, identifying signal bursts that correspond to the datalink patterns emitted by drones, remote controls, or other communication devices.

HORIZON is capable of detecting all transmission types—analog, digital, and video—without relying on pre-existing libraries. By decoding unknown communication patterns, it creates a protocol manipulation-based counter-unmanned aircraft system (C-UAS) that can identify threats previously undetectable by conventional methods.

Beyond detection, HORIZON provides early warning signals and actionable intelligence, enabling countermeasures such as jamming, electro-optic confirmation, and other mitigation techniques. It also sets the foundation for a comprehensive DTIM (Detection, Tracking, Identification, Mitigation) system that will eventually address the full lifecycle of counter-drone defense, even for devices not included in the system’s database.

Sentrycs’ HORIZON technology autonomously adapts to new communication protocols and evolves over time to include preventative measures, equipping users with the tools to make informed decisions and respond proactively to emerging threats.

Ami Shalev, VP of Research at Sentrycs, stated, “Sentrycs is advancing counter-drone technology to exceed current capabilities. These AI-driven capabilities ensure Sentrycs solutions evolve alongside the DIY drone landscape, adapting to threats with precision and efficiency. Building on the capabilities of the HORIZON, the engine is being developed into a fully self-learning DTIM (Detection, Tracking, Identification, and Mitigation) platform. This next-generation solution will address all DIY drones, regardless of type or transmission technology, ensuring comprehensive protection and operational efficiency.”
