Edgesource Corporation and Trust Automation have introduced the Windtalkerâ„¢ security upgrade for DJI’s AeroScope drone detection system, addressing significant cybersecurity risks associated with the platform.

Cybersecurity Solution for DJI AeroScope Launched

This enhancement, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense, aims to cyber-harden AeroScope while maintaining its core functionality.

The Windtalkerâ„¢ upgrade offers several key features:

  • Isolation of the system from foreign servers
  • Restriction of drone data visibility to user-controlled servers
  • Simultaneous detection of 400+ DJI Class 1-3 drones
  • Range of 25+ kilometers
  • Ability to locate pilot, home point, altitude, and sUAS flight path

This security solution addresses concerns about AeroScope’s data handling practices, which include uploading detection data to foreign DJI servers and downloading executable updates, potentially compromising networked systems.

By implementing Windtalkerâ„¢, users can sever connections to foreign servers while retaining AeroScope’s drone detection capabilities. This approach significantly mitigates national security risks associated with foreign government influence over the platform.

The Windtalkerâ„¢ security upgrade is now available, with Trust Automation, Edgesource’s manufacturing partner, providing sales and customer support.
