Advantech has released the AIR-150, a compact edge Artificial Intelligence (AI) inference system powered by 13th Gen Intel® Core™ Mobile processors.

Despite its small size (156 x 112 x 60mm; 6.14 x 4.4 x 2.36in), this processor from a leading provider of AIoT platforms and services packs a punch, with 26 TOPS of AI computing power courtesy of the Hailo-8 AI accelerator.

The AIR-150 also doesn’t compromise on connectivity, offering application-centric I/Os including COM, USB, LAN, and M.2 E-Key, facilitating seamless expansion and connectivity. Its wide operating temperature range of -20 to 60°C and compliance with Heavy Industry IEC standards ensure robust performance in industrial environments.

The compact yet powerful AI system enables high AI compute power at lower power consumption, perfect for AI enabled applications such as autonomous mobile robots, baggage screening, defect inspection, and workforce safety monitoring. To streamline AI model conversion and deployment, the AIR-150 provides easy-to-use software to speed up AI development.

Seamless AI Model Conversion & Deployment

The AIR-150 is equipped with a Hailo-8 AI acceleration module, which can deliver 26 TOPS of computing power. With better AI capability than NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano and Xavier NX, the AIR-150 brings higher throughput and lower latency for AI inferencing.

In addition, the AIR-150 offers comprehensive AI software support, including the Advantech Edge AI SDK, a rapid AI development toolkit seamlessly integrated with the HailoRT runtime SDK for easy deployment.

To address customers’ development pain-points, the AIR-150 comes with the Dataflow Compiler, a useful toolkit for swiftly converting diverse AI models between platforms, and TAPPAS, which provides several pre-trained examples, including Multi-stream Object Detection, Distance Segmentation, Classification, Pose Estimation, and more.

Robust Design for Industrial AI

Engineered to withstand harsh industrial environments, the AIR-150 supports an operating temperature range of -20~60°C and is designed with an Advantech dedicated thermal solution for the Hailo-8 AI accelerator. It smoothly runs AI inference models with heavier loading, such as Yolov3, without overheating problems.

Furthermore, the AIR-150 features application-centric I/O ports, including COM for Gyro/Stepping motors, USB for cameras, LAN for 2D/3D LiDAR, and M.2 E-Key for Wi-Fi module connectivity.

Notably, this inference system is certified for Heavy Industry IEC 61000-6-4 & 61000-6-2 standards and is Energy Star certified with Sleep/Low Power mode & Wake-on-LAN support.
