LS Elektronik has confirmed that its Mimer SoftRadio RoIP (Radio over IP) platform is now compatible with the Trig TY91 VHF airband radio, thus providing UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) operators with another option for remote use.

The Mimer SoftRadio RoIP system enables drone pilots to communicate with ATC (air traffic control) and other aircraft in the vicinity of the UAV via an onboard radio, while they themselves can be located anywhere with an Internet connection. The software interface simulates the feel of using a physical radio, and includes virtual control heads for a wide range of systems.

The Trig TY91 is compact and lightweight, making it highly suited to a wide range of UAV platforms. Operators can remotely set operating and standby channels and squelch on/off, and use audio and PTT functionalities.
