SKYPERION Marine drone detection system

METIS Aerospace has launched SKYPERION Marine, a new passive RF drone detection solution specifically designed for use in maritime environments. The new product was officially launched at the DSEI 2021 exhibition.

SKYPERION Marine is a CPNI-rated passive radio frequency drone detection system with the antenna and sensor processor units all housed within a marinised radome. The malicious use of drone-based threats is a growing risk to the security and privacy of commercial shipping, as well as yacht operators and owners, and the new detection solution provides a defense capability against all known commercial drones as well as hybrid ‘home builds’.

Tony Burnell, CEO of METIS Aerospace, commented: “The serious threat and tragic consequences that drones can bring to the maritime environment highlight why there is a pressing need for vessels to be prepared and protected at all times. SKYPERION Marine has been developed to the same exacting standards as the METIS flagship SKYPERION system, in order to meet the demands of the maritime environment and keep vessels safe.”
