Kongsberg Maritime will demonstrate a number of innovative technologies for the subsea & survey industry at Ocean Business in Southampton UK, in April 2013.
Alongside the unveiling of a new AUV, Kongsberg Maritime will introduce a new variant of its state-of-the-art EM 2040 multibeam echo sounder. Based on the state-of-the-art EM 2040 multibeam, the new EM 2040C (Compact) is a significant development in acoustic technology that makes highly detailed surveys of shallow water possible.
cNODE is Kongsberg Maritime’s family of transponders for underwater acoustic positioning and data communication. With over 100 channels available, cNODE transponders can be used in combination with the established and market-leading HiPAP underwater positioning systems, for subsea survey and construction applications. Live cNODE demos will run every afternoon during Ocean Business.Other highlights from the subsea technology developer during Ocean Business include the return of the popular Kongsberg Maritime demo boat, with regular on-water demonstrations of cNODE underwater positioning and data link transponders.
Kongsberg Maritime Ltd meanwhile, will focus on its growing rental portfolio, which now include the REMUS 100 AUV from Kongsberg Hydroid. The growing rental business operated from the Kongsberg Maritime Ltd offices in Aberdeen received a boost in December 2012 with delivery of its first REMUS 100 AUV. The man-portable AUV will further enhance the company’s existing portfolio of leased specialist equipment, which supports customers undertaking survey and inspection tasks within the offshore oil and gas, environmental and renewable energy markets.
