Beyond 12 is a lightweight airborne flight termination system that provides an independent means of ending a drone flight if the primary avionics or command link fails. Installed between the autopilot and the selected servos, ESCs, ECUs or other termination actuators, the device passes control signals through unchanged during normal operation. A valid command from the Beyond Base station causes it to interrupt or replace up to four PWM signals, executing the response configured for the aircraft.
Configurable auxiliary and emergency-recovery outputs enable Beyond 12 to activate additional equipment such as a parachute or external relay. The integrated Iridium SBD modem provides global satellite connectivity to Beyond Base Single. An optional serial TTL secondary-link interface can use a compatible radio already installed on the drone, and an internal radio version is available where a separate link is required.
The compact IP68-rated aluminum enclosure weighs just 98 g and is ideal for SWaP-constrained platforms.
