The GenPod® 70 LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) from HFE International is a self-contained UAV engine module designed for rapid replacement and minimal operational downtime. It includes the complete engine system with electronic fuel injection, ignition, fuel pump, isolation-mounted motor mount, and all necessary electronics.
The unit can be swapped in minutes, eliminating the need for extended maintenance downtime during TBO overhauls. Available in pusher or tractor configurations, the GenPod® 70 LRU supports quick integration into new airframe designs, reducing engineering hours that would otherwise be spent on ECU placement, fuel system routing, and vibration isolation.
The system features a built-in starter generator that provides up to 500 W for avionics power, with voltage outputs configurable at the factory. A silent muffler set reduces the acoustic signature for lower detectability. The quick mount interface and simple connection points for power, fuel, and throttle enable rapid field replacement. Optional cowling and fairing mount points allow for mission specific customization.
