LOCTITE® SI 5900 is a single-part, moisture-cured silicone sealant designed for form-in-place gasketing on flexible flange assemblies. Its heavy-bodied, thixotropic formulation provides strong resistance to oil and joint movement while adhering to metal, plastic, glass, and ceramic substrates. The material can fill gaps up to 6.35 mm (0.250") and is suitable for applications such as stamped sheet-metal covers where an environmental seal must accommodate movement between joined surfaces.
The sealant skins over in approximately 15 minutes and can withstand low-pressure in-line testing before full cure begins. Once cured, LOCTITE® SI 5900 forms a flexible gasket intended to resist shrinking, compression, cracking, and relaxation during exposure to oil or joint movement. It is also registered to NSF Category P1 in the United States.
