LOCTITE® 680 is a green, low-viscosity retaining compound developed for high-strength assembly of cylindrical fitting components, including slip-fit parts. Its anaerobic formulation cures on active metals such as mild steel as well as passive substrates including stainless steel and plated surfaces. It can also tolerate minor oil or surface contamination without requiring primer or cleaner, helping maintain dependable curing across varied assembly conditions.
The compound helps secure cylindrical joints against movement and leakage caused by shock or vibration. Its robust curing behavior makes it suitable for applications involving inactive surfaces or comparatively larger fitting gaps where a low-viscosity material is preferred. LOCTITE® 680 is fluorescent under UV light to aid quality-control inspection and carries NSF/ANSI 61 certification for use at temperatures up to 82°C (179.6°F).
