Gemstar produces custom thermoformed covers, enclosures, housings, and other formed plastic components for OEM programs across construction, heavy machinery, material handling, and industrial markets. Heated plastic sheet is shaped against a mold using controlled forming conditions, enabling detailed surfaces, deep draws, negative-draft geometry, and complex profiles while keeping tooling expenditure below typical injection-molding requirements. Gemstar supports projects through design, manufacturing, and assembly, including matched multi-part sets, custom colors, and specified surface textures.
Thermoformed components can provide corrosion resistance without secondary coatings, reduced weight compared with metal alternatives, and resilient impact performance without permanent denting. Available materials include polyethylene for chemical resistance and impact strength; ABS for durability, thermal performance, and available UL flame-retardant grades; polycarbonate for high-impact, weather-resistant, or transparent parts; and TPO for formability, outdoor durability, and impact resistance. These material and forming options allow OEM engineers to tailor component properties to defined mechanical, environmental, and appearance requirements.
