Elsight’s Halo OEM is a compact, low-SWaP mission enablement module designed to provide secure, reliable connectivity for UAVs and autonomous drone operations. Combining multiple LTE/5G cellular, satellite, and RF communication links into a single resilient connection, Halo supports continuous command and control, real-time video transmission, and telemetry during demanding beyond visual line of sight (BVLOS) missions.
The platform’s proprietary intelligent multilink bonding technology utilizes all available networks simultaneously, dynamically distributing traffic according to connection quality. Unlike conventional failover systems, Halo maintains connectivity without relying on switching between primary and backup links, minimizing interruptions caused by network congestion, interference, or signal degradation.
Advanced capabilities include AI-powered network pre-cognition, configurable Quality of Service (QoS) for prioritizing mission-critical data, and secure transmission through AES-256-CBC encryption, data fragmentation, and VPN tunnelling. Remote monitoring, configuration, and over-the-air firmware updates further support reliable, scalable drone operations.
Weighing just 93 grams and consuming an average of 6.5 W, Halo OEM integrates into UAV platforms through Ethernet, USB, and serial interfaces, with native MAVLink support and open APIs for streamlined integration with flight controllers and mission systems.
Public Safety & Drone as First Responder (DFR)
Halo OEM enables reliable connectivity for public safety UAVs and Drone as First Responder (DFR) operations, supporting continuous video streaming, telemetry, and command and control in challenging urban and remote environments.
By bonding multiple available networks into a single secure connection, the module helps maintain operational continuity when individual links experience congestion, coverage gaps, or interference. This enables emergency response teams to maintain situational awareness and remotely supervise drone missions across extended operating areas.
Commercial Drone Operations
Halo OEM supports commercial UAV applications requiring dependable BVLOS communications, including drone delivery, infrastructure inspection, surveying, precision agriculture, and remote monitoring.
Its intelligent multilink bonding technology maintains reliable data transmission across changing network conditions, while configurable traffic prioritization ensures critical command and control information receives the necessary bandwidth. The compact module enables UAV manufacturers and operators to integrate resilient communications without significantly impacting aircraft payload capacity or power consumption.
