Halo OEM Connectivity Solution

Elsight’s Halo is a state-of-the-art connectivity solution for UAVs, robotic vehicles and unmanned systems, combining LTE and 5G cellular services with proprietary SATCOM and RF communications into a single bonded link. This unique capability can be used to maximize the available bandwidth for data transmission, or to provide critical redundancy for video streaming, telemetry, and command and control.

Drones and autonomous vehicles equipped with Halo can send and receive data via secure VPN tunneling to Elsight’s Cloud platform or an on-premises server. Halo can also provide P2P connectivity that takes advantage of low-latency, low-cost RF links when in proximity, and switches to cellular bonding to establish a BVLOS data link. The versatile system automatically and continuously monitors all available links, detecting connection issues and seamlessly switching to a backup to ensure continuous uptime.

The OEM version of Halo provides a compact and lightweight card form factor that can be integrated into a wide range of platforms, and is available in two variants – four LTE slots, or two LTE plus one 5G. Both variants weigh less than 100 grams with an average power consumption of 6.5W.

HLS / Public Safety / DFR

Halo OEM supports UAVs and UGVs in public safety and Drone as First Responder operations by overcoming the limitations of single-network systems, public safety radio disruptions, and delayed failover methods. It continuously bonds LTE, 5G, SATCOM, and P2P or MANET links into one secure communication channel, transmitting AES-256-CBC encrypted data packets across all available networks and reassembling them through VPN tunneling.

This ensures uninterrupted video, telemetry, and command and control for first responder platforms, even in areas affected by terrain, congestion, or interference. Traffic is routed based on real-time link performance, maintaining operational continuity without communication drops.

Commercial Drone Use

Halo OEM enables commercial UAV operations that require BVLOS capability, consistent data flow, and reliable communication across different environments. Instead of relying on single or failover-based cellular links, it keeps LTE, 5G, RF, and satellite connections active simultaneously and manages them internally to prevent disconnections.

The system maintains secure VPN connectivity to cloud or on-premises infrastructure while supporting telemetry, video, and control functions throughout the mission. This provides UAV manufacturers and commercial operators with a dependable communications layer suited to applications such as logistics, surveying, infrastructure monitoring, and long-range operations.
