Canadian enterprise drone solutions provider Infinit Drones Corp. has announced the commercial launch of the Dock M400, an autonomous docking platform co-developed with manufacturer SB Innovation.
Historically, organizations requiring aerial operations faced a compromise between the heavy payload capacity of larger enterprise drones requiring manual crew deployment and smaller automated drone-in-a-box systems with limited payload options. The Dock M400 eliminates this trade-off by combining heavy-lift capabilities with remote, autonomous dock operations, allowing operators to launch, recover, charge, and redeploy aircraft without traveling to the field site.
“Organizations have been asking for the operational power of the Matrice 400 without having to deploy a flight team every time the aircraft is needed. Dock M400 closes that gap,” said Pedram Nowroozi, CEO of Infinit Drones. “It combines remote operation, advanced payload flexibility and either rapid charging or automatic battery replacement in one platform. For public safety, utilities and critical infrastructure, this means faster access to aerial intelligence, fewer unnecessary site deployments and a more scalable path toward continuous drone operations.”
Designed for electrical utilities, oil and gas operators, mining companies, railways, ports, pipeline operators, and emergency responders, the platform enables repeatable, high-frequency aerial data collection without scaling headcount. In practice, a utility can install a docking unit along a transmission corridor to automatically launch thermal, zoom, or LiDAR payload configurations following a storm or alarm trigger, allowing operators to assess situational intelligence prior to dispatching maintenance crews.
Available in automatic charging or automatic battery replacement configurations, the Dock M400 features two-minute battery swaps, storage for up to four batteries, and dock-to-dock hopping functionality for linear or long-distance missions. The IP55-rated enclosure operates across temperatures from -20°C to 50°C and incorporates integrated RTK, environmental monitoring, thermal management, and dock cameras. Deployment options support fixed or vehicle-mounted setups with cloud or private-network communication via 4G/5G and edge computing, along with open integration for third-party command-and-control software and specialized payloads.
The platform arrives amid accelerating demand for Drone as First Responder programs and expanded Canadian RPAS regulations establishing frameworks for lower-risk Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations. Operating as distributor, vendor, and systems integrator, Infinit Drones is taking order placements with delivery, installation, and commissioning timelines typically running three to four weeks based on site requirements and system configurations.
