A new partnership between collaborative autonomous systems specialist Beyond Vision and Romanian UAV integrator and operator La Orizont is set to equip Romanian institutions and industries with advanced drone technology.
The collaboration focuses on deploying autonomous platforms capable of managing demanding missions across multiple critical sectors. These applications include inspecting power grids, providing logistics and transport support, and delivering vital capabilities for emergency services, such as wildfire detection, search and rescue operations, and disaster response. On a national security level, the systems are designed for continuous maritime and border surveillance.
The joint venture recently demonstrated its capabilities at two major defense and security events in Romania. At the Black Sea Defense & Aerospace exhibition, which drew 40,000 professional visitors and 700 companies, the partners showcased their unified technology. The systems were subsequently evaluated by military personnel during the Operational Experimentation multinational military exercise, where the equipment flew live tactical scenarios alongside NATO allies.
The technology combines autonomous flight with advanced C4ISR networks, allowing the aircraft to handle flight operations while ground personnel focus entirely on data analysis. The platforms autonomously patrol designated zones, communicate with one another in real-time, and stream actionable data directly to ground commanders or emergency response coordinators.
Luís Miguel Campos, Chairman of Beyond Vision, said, “We build autonomous systems that collect data, process it, and make real-time decisions without the need for human input. But advanced technological capabilities alone don’t close a deal or solve a problem. Local knowledge and customer trust do. That’s why teaming up with La Orizont was a natural step for us. They understand exactly what Romanian institutions are struggling with day-to-day, and together, we can turn complex technology into easy-to-use, customized solutions for the people who benefit from it the most.”
Ciprian Iorga, Founder of La Orizont, added, “Ten years in the Romanian market gives you a clear picture of what civil protection and defense teams are actually up against. Bringing Beyond Vision’s autonomous networks and C4ISR capabilities into the mix means we can give our defense and emergency teams the exact equipments they need to act faster and safer. We are incredibly excited to bring this level of innovation home.”
The partnership represents a long-term commitment to building national resilience and supporting Romania’s continuous development across both defense and civil sectors.
