Reactive Drone, in partnership with the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute” (KhAI), has opened the LOKI Unmanned Systems Center, a new drone laboratory for students at the university.
The new center has been established to support engineering education and the development of unmanned technologies in Ukraine. It will provide students with access to modern technologies, manufacturing equipment, real unmanned platforms, and production processes.
Designed as a space for education, research, and hands-on work, the center will enable students to gain practical experience with unmanned systems. Activities will include Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) design and assembly, prototyping, engineering preparation, and work involving manufacturing equipment and production processes.
Students will receive practical training from day one while learning with real unmanned platforms. The center will support practical experience across activities ranging from engineering design through to production.
For Reactive Drone, the project represents an investment in the future of engineering and unmanned technologies in Ukraine. The collaboration between Reactive Drone and KhAI creates new opportunities for engineering education and practical training in unmanned technologies.
The center is named in honor of Yaroslav Oliinyk, who dedicated his life to defending Ukraine and advancing unmanned technologies.
Reactive Drone proposed the LOKI name, with support from the project’s partners, as a symbol of remembrance and gratitude for his contribution.
The center reflects the belief that the memory of those who developed Ukrainian unmanned technologies should live on not only in history, but also through projects that carry on their legacy.
The opening marked a significant event for the university, its students, and the Reactive Drone team. By establishing a dedicated environment for education, research, and hands-on work with unmanned systems, Reactive Drone and KhAI are creating new opportunities for the training of future engineers.
