The new hardware utilizes a top hat, or lollipop, form factor and is available in both Right-Hand Circular Polarization (RHCP) and Left-Hand Circular Polarization (LHCP) configurations. By focusing on a balance between a lightweight footprint and signal integrity, the manufacturer aims to improve operational efficiency for pilots requiring consistent video links over extended ranges.

Technical specifications for the Topper 8 highlight a high-gain output exceeding 2.0 dBi. This performance profile is intended to meet the rigorous demands of long-range flight where signal reliability is critical. To ensure compatibility across various platforms, the antenna supports a wide frequency range and integrates with major open-source operating systems, including ArduPilot and Betaflight.

This release marks a broader move by Locust Industries to leverage its manufacturing ecosystem for a full suite of flight hardware. The company, which is a global developer of FPV drone components, is currently developing complementary products such as FPV cameras, BLDC motors, and Flight Controller ESC stacks. These components are being positioned under the Locust brand to provide hobbyists and professionals with access to industrial-grade hardware that undergoes rigorous quality assurance testing.

The Topper 8 is currently available through selected distributors in the United States. In addition to standard retail availability, the company is offering customization solutions and bulk pricing structures for commercial and affiliate partners.
