Discover cutting-edge solutions from 5 leading global suppliers
Ascent AeroSystems has expanded its command and control (C2) solutions by making the Freefly Pilot Pro™ ground control station (GCS) the standard Blue UAS/NDAA-compliant controller for its SPIRIT™ and SPARTAN™ coaxial UAV platforms.
The Freefly Pilot Pro, showcased at Commercial UAV Expo September 2025, provides enhanced performance, rugged reliability, and intuitive operation, delivering a dependable, U.S.-made end-to-end solution for mission-critical applications.
There are many benefits to this GCS. As a Blue UAS–approved system, it is recognized by DoD for rapid acquisition and deployment. The Freefly Pilot Pro also offers seamless plug-and-play compatibility with all of Ascent’s high-performance UAV platforms.
Ascent AeroSystems’ GCS has an ergonomic, operator-focused design with intuitive controls. Built for rugged performance, this system is engineered to withstand demanding and austere conditions of field operations.
The system is future-ready, ensuring continued compliance with NDAA requirements and defense acquisition standards.
Peter Fuchs, Cofounder and CEO of Ascent AeroSystems, stated, “PilotPro is one of the most sought-after command and control solutions in the industry, and with good reason. By pairing PilotPro with SPIRIT and SPARTAN, operators now have a fully integrated system that meets – and in many cases exceeds – the supply chain reliability and security requirements of military, public safety, and enterprise users.”
“For operators, we know confidence in command and control is everything. By pairing the Freefly Pilot Pro with Ascent’s proven platforms, we’re delivering a ground station that’s every bit as rugged and capable as the aircraft themselves. Together, they form a fully integrated system built to meet the highest standards of performance, security, and compliance.”
The Freefly Pilot Pro GCS is now available for operation with both SPIRIT and SPARTAN.
