At Commercial UAV Expo 2025 in Las Vegas, Ascent AeroSystems introduced SPARTAN, the next-generation evolution of its NX30 coaxial UAV platform.

New Coaxial Drone Technology with Extended Range & Increased Payload Capacity

Purpose-built for defense, public safety, industrial, and agricultural missions, SPARTAN sets a new benchmark for performance, reliability, and versatility in a compact, portable system designed for professional operators and integrators.

Building on the foundation of the NX30, SPARTAN incorporates a range of design enhancements that deliver longer endurance, extended range, higher speeds, and increased payload capacity compared to comparable platforms. These upgrades are complemented by Ascent’s signature rugged cylindrical airframe, multi-mission modularity, and all-weather durability.

Key Capabilities

  • Extended Endurance & Range: Over 70 minutes of flight time supports up to 24 miles of A-B range and coverage of 1,800 square miles.
  • Payload Capacity: Carries payloads of up to 15.3 lbs.
  • MOSA Flexibility: Features the same quick-connect payload integration system as the SPIRIT platform, enabling effortless customization.
  • FAA-Compliant Lighting: Strobing lights for night operations, plus fully addressable RGB LEDs for precise, real-time status monitoring.
  • All-Weather Reliability: IP54-rated battery enclosure withstands rain, sleet, snow, sand, and sustained winds exceeding 40 mph.

SPARTAN ships standard with the Doodle Labs Mesh Rider® Dual-band 2.4 GHz radio and is offered in two base configurations:

  • SPARTAN Base Kit: Includes the airframe core, radio module, two batteries, rotor blades, battery charger, Pelican case, and Herelink GCS. MSRP: $24,999.
  • SPARTAN Base Kit PRO: Designed for operators requiring fully NDAA-compliant systems, with the Freefly Pilot Pro GCS included. MSRP: $32,499.

Initial deliveries are expected to begin in October 2025, with continued full service and support available for NX30 operators.
