Cleo Robotics has launched the Dronut DD1, an advanced aerial robot building upon its previous Dronut X1 platform.

This new system is specifically engineered to address the complexities of confined, cluttered, and densely populated environments where conventional drones cannot operate safely or effectively.

The Dronut DD1 incorporates advancements in sensing, intelligence, and flight performance, pushing the boundaries of physical AI. Its design features fully enclosed propellers within a compact form factor, enabling safe operation near individuals and precise navigation in GPS-denied or restricted areas.

Omar Eleryan, CEO and co-founder of Cleo Robotics, stated, “The Dronut DD1 is redefining what’s possible for autonomous systems in the world’s most complex and demanding environments. From GPS-denied zones to high-stakes missions, our customers face challenges where traditional systems fail. The DD1 delivers unparalleled safety, intelligence, and versatility – setting a new standard for what drones can achieve.”

Key upgrades in the Dronut DD1 include:
– AI-driven navigation and precise indoor positioning
– Reduced acoustic signature and improved flight stability
– Improved sensor payload and extended radio range

Manufactured in the USA, the Dronut DD1 is already being deployed in various sectors, including industrial inspection, asset monitoring, and tactical operations for both industrial and government users.

The launch of the Dronut DD1 coincides with a strategic investment from IQT, a non-profit strategic investor for the U.S. national security community and its allies. IQT’s mission involves identifying, evaluating, and leveraging emerging commercial technologies to provide capabilities and insights to government partners.

Jon Chait, Managing Partner at IQT, commented, “The Dronut is a mission-ready platform that delivers intelligence in critical and challenging environments that are not accessible to most aerial drones. We are really excited to partner with Cleo Robotics as they push the boundaries of robotics and AI-enabled autonomy features in support of industrial and mission-critical national security use cases.”
