T-DRONES has officially launched the 8S 14.4Ah lithium-ion battery, a new high-performance battery solution designed to deliver extended endurance and superior energy density for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly the VTOL VA17 drone.

Engineered with advanced solid-state lithium-ion technology, the newly released 8S 14.4Ah battery weights just 1,480 grams. This makes it significantly more convenient than traditional batteries, while offering exceptional power-to-weight efficiency.

Optimized for VTOL platforms, a single 8S 14.4Ah battery can sustain the VA17’s flight time for up to 120 minutes under standard operating conditions. In recent flight tests conducted by T-DRONES engineers, the VA17, equipped with an 800-gram payload, surpassed the 120-minute endurance mark, demonstrating the battery’s real-world performance capabilities.

The battery features a high discharge rate of 10C, which ensures robust high-current output, rapid response, a stable discharge platform, and an extended cycle life. These attributes make it an ideal energy solution for demanding aerial operations.

The solid-state lithium-ion material at the core of the battery enhances energy density while reducing overall weight and increasing longevity. These features collectively contribute to longer flight durations and improved operational efficiency for drones equipped with the new battery.

Maintenance Guide

To help users maximize the battery’s service life, T-DRONES has issued the following maintenance recommendations:

  • Storage Voltage: After each use, charge the battery to a storage voltage of 30.0–30.4V.
  • Periodic Conditioning: Every 90 days, fully charge the battery, discharge it to 28V, and recharge to the recommended storage voltage.
  • Certified Equipment: Always use an officially certified charger to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Cooling Time: Allow the battery to fully cool down after use before initiating a recharge cycle.
  • Discharge Limit: Do not allow the battery to discharge below 26V. Discontinue use of any battery that falls below this threshold.

By following these guidelines, users can significantly extend the operational lifespan of the 8S 14.4Ah battery, ensuring reliable and efficient performance for their drone missions.
