Moonrock Insurance has developed a state-of-the art insurance product to protect drone manufacturers in the event of their devices causing harm to the public.
The specialist managing general agent has developed the product liability cover to support the wider drone community and now offers a high-quality range of policies backed by A-rated capacity.
The innovative product liability offering is backed by capacity from Apollo as part of Moonrock’s existing binder with the insurer. The product is available via brokers to customers globally.
Simon Ritterband, MD and founder of Moonrock, said, “We’re pleased to introduce the newest game-changer in our product suite: we’re now empowering drone manufacturers with the product liability coverage they need to thrive.
“Our products already cover an incredible range of drone operations including agricultural spraying and film production to drone deliveries, BVLOS flights, and the booming eVTOL (passenger drone) sector. Now, with the addition of product liability insurance, we’re taking things to the next level and adding a powerful new tool to our arsenal.”
Martin Jackson, Class Leader, Aviation, Apollo Insurance, commented, “We have successfully extended our offering into drone product manufacturers legal liability having bound policies already and foresee that to increase as the business grows. We have a very strong partnership with Moonrock and look forward to continued success in innovation in the market.”
Ritterband added, “Once again, thanks to Apollo for their ongoing support and for recognising the incredible momentum of the drone industry. As drones continue to revolutionise everything from agriculture to transportation, it’s clear that this booming sector demands forward-thinking, flexible insurance solutions.
“Apollo’s commitment to keeping pace with this rapid growth and offering innovative, accessible coverage is truly setting the standard for the future of the industry.”
