Elistair successfully collaborated with ARX Robotics to deliver an integrated system featuring Elistair’s KHRONOS DroneBox and ARX Robotics’ GEREON RCS unmanned ground vehicle (UGV).
The advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) solution was tested during an Experimentation Series organized by the Army Concepts and Capabilities Development Centre of the Bundeswehr (German Army).
The three-week Experimentation Series, designed to evaluate the performance of unmanned systems in varied tactical scenarios, provided a unique platform to demonstrate the seamless integration and capabilities of the cutting-edge systems.
The Bundeswehr tested how efficiently multiple autonomous systems, including drones and UGVs, could operate in tandem to support defense and surveillance missions.
The combined solution leverages Elistair’s KHRONOS DroneBox, a mobile, uninterrupted surveillance platform that can operate in contested environments, facilitating continuous real-time intelligence.
When paired with ARX Robotics’ GEREON RCS UGV, the operational mobility is extended, ensuring sustained, autonomous surveillance capabilities across wider areas.
Military units can efficiently monitor and respond to evolving tactical scenarios, ensuring a superior situational overview whilst reducing the risk to the soldier.
Marc Wietfeld, ARX Robotics CEO, commented, “An aerial drone typically has a limited flight time, which can be significantly extended with the DroneBox. The system becomes even more durable and powerful when the DroneBox is integrated with our GEREON RCS UGV – extending both range and mobility. Our GEREON serves as a critical link between the drone and the recipient of the information, ensuring real-time data transmission.
“This partnership enables continuous, autonomous, multi-domain surveillance across larger areas, optimizing situational awareness and response times while delivering essential intelligence directly to those who need it most.”
Steve Allcock, Elistair’s Head of Sales and Partnerships in Europe, added, “Integrating our KHRONOS DroneBox with ARX Robotics’ UGV is a step forward in our mission to enhance the effectiveness of drone-based surveillance operations. Our collaboration underscores the importance of teaming autonomous systems to meet the evolving demands of modern defense applications and minimizing soldiers’ exposure to threats.”
