Drone Smart battery

The aeroPAX6 is a high-performance smart battery that delivers reliable power for demanding drone and robotics applications, providing strong bursts of energy when you need them the most. The battery management system constantly monitors vital parameters and can deliver this information via UAVCAN or I2C, and also outputs it to a convenient display on the front of the unit.

The system’s logging feature provides crucial long-term data that allows you to analyze and refine the performance of your systems, enabling better mission planning and more accurate flight time and range calculations. The battery can also be placed into a storage mode during extended periods of inactivity, preserving overall health and maximizing its longevity.

The aeroPAX6 battery is hot-swappable when used in parallel, ensuring that downtime is minimized. It is available in three capacity options: 20 Ah/444 Wh, 16 Ah/355 Wh, and 12 Ah/266 Wh.

Smart Battery Charger

Aerotate’s smart battery chargers provide effective, efficient and safe charging capabilities, communicating seamlessly with batteries via CANBus and constantly monitoring system temperature.

The integrated battery management system precisely balances individual cell voltages to optimize health and maximize lifespan, and utilizes a unique air-cooling mechanism. Four different charging capacities are available to suit a wide range of requirements.

aeroPAX6 Battery Carrier

An easy-to-use battery carrier provides rapid integration of aeroPAX smart batteries into drones and robotic vehicles without the need for specialized mounts, connectors or wiring harnesses. The carrier PCB can be connected directly to the vehicle’s ESC (electronic speed controller), and also offers two I2C (JST GH) and two CAN ports, as well as a 5V/10W output for autopilots and other electronics.

Two versions of the carrier are available – one with protected outputs for parallel operation, and one without. The protected outputs ensure that active connectors are never exposed when only one battery is in the system, allowing for an empty and a full battery to be connected at the same time and enabling the empty battery to be hot-swapped.

Aerotate can also develop custom battery management systems and drone power solutions, tailoring hardware, software and housing to your exact requirements. The company is able to create battery packs with any cells on the market, including high-energy density Amprius cells, according to your unique needs.

In addition, Aerotate also offers a range of additional expert engineering services, including prototype development, CAD design, and electronics and embedded system design.
