Protective nanocoatings specialist HZO, Inc., has opened its new Center of Excellence (CoE) in Shenzhen, China, expanding its manufacturing footprint and capabilities in the region.

The new facility will help address the growing demands of HZO’s client base, including support for consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, IoT, medical device, and unmanned systems manufacturers.

The investment in the new CoE also serves to reinforce HZO’s commitment to the Chinese market. Spanning more than 5,000 m2, the smart plant infrastructure offers advanced manufacturing capabilities, automated production, data-driven processes, and fully integrated services.

The operations model affords full production transparency, flexibility, and reporting, bringing a forward-thinking approach to cost control and quality. Application and process engineering services bring design for excellence and manufacturability to the forefront, supporting the most demanding customer requirements.

“The expansion of our Shenzhen presence reflects the market need for better solutions in protecting everything from smart home devices like video doorbells and locks to mission-critical applications like satellite communication,” according to Andreas Morr, Chief Operations Officer, HZO.

“We partner with every customer to develop a solution that not only meets their product specification but also gives them a competitive and cost advantage.”

The new center expands HZO’s global footprint, including locations throughout China, as well as Vietnam, Taiwan, Hungary, and North America. HZO will harness the support and demand from current customer programs in ramping up local production, driving scale, and expanding services to meet market demands.
