Cinch Front Load Pluggable optical transceivers whitepaperCinch Connectivity Solutions has released a whitepaper detailing the advantages of its Front Load Pluggable (FNx) optical transceiver family, designed for use in rugged military, aerospace and industrial applications such as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotics.

Pluggable transceivers are traditionally not used in rugged applications due to high levels of vibration and shock. The whitepaper details how the FNx series of transceivers solves this problem by using gold-plated contacts and captive screws.

The whitepaper also covers a range of other benefits, including the ability to easily change between single-mode and multi-mode optical fiber systems by simply swapping out transceivers as necessary.
