Microdrones mdLiDAR1000 UAS

Ideal Blasting Supply has joined the network of distributors for Microdrones unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and accessories for mapping and surveying. The company is a specialist provider of equipment for both the commercial explosives industry and EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) and bomb squad technicians.

Ideal Blasting Supply now offers Microdrones Integrated Systems – complete mapping solutions that include a multirotor drone, specialised mapping and survey payloads, and Microdrones’ proprietary mdCockpit mission planning and control software. The systems allow users to efficiently and safely collect data and easily turn that data into high-accuracy data deliverables such as 3D pointclouds, orthomosaics, or inspection concern maps.

Jeremy Stafford, Vice President of Ideal Blasting Inc., commented: “We have an increasing need in the explosives industry for high-quality mapping drones. This industry has a wide range of customers from small quarries to large open-pit mines who are all trying to streamline processes, keep employees safe and get actionable data quicker. Microdrones can fulfill their needs. We have been in business for 41 years and have some extensive UAV knowledge. Not only do we help customers select the right system for their particular use case, but we also offer training to ensure they get the most from their investment.”

Chuck Dorgan, Microdrones Sales Director for the Americas, stated: “We’re excited to work with Jeremy and his team. Our new Microdrones as a Service business model will open the door for a lot of the companies that Ideal Blasting does business with while also creating higher efficiencies in their workflow and processes.”
