Fairview Microwave MIL-DTL-17 Cable Assemblies

Fairview Microwave, a provider of on-demand RF and microwave components, has announced the launch of a new series of military-grade MIL-DTL-17 RF cable assemblies designed for electronic countermeasures (ECM), avionics, GPS and communications applications for unmanned systems such as UAVs.

Fairview’s new military-grade cable assemblies feature operating frequencies of up to 12.4 GHz and VSWR as low as 1.3:1 per connector. This new product line is made up of six different cable types in 124 basic configurations for a total of more than 1,200 possibilities.

They are constructed of MIL-C-17 qualified cable, MIL-PRF-39012 qualified connectors, J-STD soldering and AS23053 heat shrink. These commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) cable assemblies are 100% tested and come complete with test data, test report and material lot traceability.

“Being able to offer our customers 1,200 COTS cable assemblies with same-day shipping and test reports is a game changer. In the past, customers would have to wait weeks or months for cables built to these specifications and with traceability, but this entire line is ready and available immediately,” said Dan Birch, Product Manager.
