Smart Sourcing for Unmanned Systems
Discover cutting-edge solutions from leading global suppliersNuWaves Engineering, a Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave solutions provider, has announced the upcoming release of the latest offering in the NuPower small, lightweight and high-efficiency power amplifier (PA) family of products – the NuPower 06D05A C-band PA.
The NuPower 06D05A provides saturated RF power of 20 Watts in C-band (frequency coverage from 4.4 GHz to 4.9 GHz), with module efficiencies of up to 30%. For complex waveforms that require a linear PA, the 06D05A has an error vector magnitude (EVM) of 4% at 2 Watts of output power. With a nominal input drive level of 0 dBm, the NuPower 06D05A offers 40 dB of RF gain. Further, the PA’s aluminum chassis features improved heat dissipation characteristics for higher-temperature operation, and at a compact size of 4.50” x 3.50” x 0.61”, it is small enough for integration into a wide variety of air- or ground-based tactical, test or training platforms. With its size, weight and power (SWaP) profile, the NuPower 06D05A can be used with communications and telemetry systems to provide range extension or with electronic warfare systems for airborne electronic attack (AEA) at low altitudes, including unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
“As an add-on to an existing communications system, the NuPower 06D05A offers the systems integrator the ability to achieve greater communication range.” said Jeff Wells, President and CEO of NuWaves Engineering. “NuWaves Engineering takes pride in offering first-rate communications solutions to the Warfighter. Our power amplifiers enable greater standoff distances for UAS and unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) applications, giving our armed forces the advantage in hostile environments.”
