Alliance Sensors LRS-18Alliance Sensors Group, a manufacturer of position measurement solutions, has introduced the LRS-18, the company’s first spring-loaded LVIT (Linear Variable Inductive Transducer) series.

The LRS-18 series of spring-loaded, contactless position sensors is designed for dimension or position measuring applications within the robotics sector, including robotic arms, military and aerospace test equipment, factory automation and other situations where the sensing element cannot be attached to the object being measured.

The LRS-18 series features an excellent stroke-to-length ratio, with sensor lengths ranging from 12.5 to 100 mm (0.5 to 4.0″), the largest size of which measures a length of 1″. The sensors have a 19mm (0.75″) diameter aluminum or stainless steel body with an M18x1 thread, and come with two hex jam nuts for easy installation in place of an 18 mm analog proximity sensor. The sensor probe is 0.25″ in diameter and equipped with an AGD No. 9 contact tip, and is offered with either an axial cable or a connector. The maximum tip force on the item being measured is 1 lb.

Operating from a variety of DC voltages, the sensors are available with a choice of four analog outputs, all including ASG’s proprietary SenSet field calibration feature.
