Elmo Gold Oboe Servo Drive

Elmo Motion Control, a provider of advanced motion control solutions, has announced two new intelligent durable servo drives.

The Gold Clarinet is the newest member of the Gold Line series of advanced field-proven servo drives and motion controllers. Gold Clarinet provides 9A/200V and 20A/100V for any 3-phase brushless, 2-phase stepper motors, single phase voice coil and DC. Extremely rugged and designed to deliver the highest density of power and intelligence, the Gold Clarinet provides up to 1.6 kW of continuous power or 3.2 kW of peak power in a compact package.

The Gold Oboe 10/480 delivers 10A continuous power at up to 480VAC and measures 72mm x 140mm x 110mm, making it the smallest servo drive to deliver >5kW from a 480VAC mains connection. The unique combination of high current loop dynamic range with a resolution ratio of 1/2000 enables high flexibility and dramatically boosts the performance of linear and torque motors in demanding high-end applications that require flexible current control for high and low speed operations.

Both servo drives will be launched at Automate 2015. Elmo will also exhibit the flagship NANO Gold Twitter, operating a 4000 watt motor at the exhibition. Weighing 18 grams and less than 13 cm3 in volume, the Gold Twitter is the highest powered servo drive on the market.

Elmo’s Gold Line of advanced field-proven servo drives and motion controllers provide a power density of up to 65kW, precise motion functions, and the ability to handle any feedback. The Gold Line has STO safety standard built-in approved to SIL 3 by TUV and UL approved certification for drives with operating voltages up to 800 VDC and 530 VAC. Easily set up and tuned using Elmo Application Studio II (EASII) software, these servo drives operate as a single or multi-axis control solution in a distributed configuration real-time network, and are ideal for demanding applications such as unmanned systems.
