UAVExperts LogoUAVExperts, a supplier of unmanned aerial systems and aerial photography equipment, has launched its new UAV Ground School program, and over 300 people have already registered and started graduating from this fully certified program. The program is an FAA-compliant online ground school that is available 24/7, allowing students to learn at their own pace. Successful completion provides students the credentials to sit for the FAA Private Pilot’s Knowledge Exam. Produced in partnership with pilot education leader Gold Seal Flight, this program is designed for the serious UAV operator that wishes to gain full FAA certification, covering general aviation knowledge as well as specialized UAV education topics.

The FAA has announced that new regulations are expected as early as spring 2015. Most industry insiders expect the FAA knowledge test to be a key component of FAA certification for commercial UAV pilots. Upon completion of the UAV Ground School online program, participants will receive a Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) endorsement authorizing them to sit for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test at any testing center in the United States. As the FAA prepares to regulate and license commercial UAV operators, passing the FAA knowledge test will give participants a major leg up when commercial UAV use is integrated into the national airspace. Even recreational users will benefit from the knowledge and confidence gained from successful completion of the UAV Ground School program.

“UAVExperts.aero is America’s largest supplier of UAV flight products,” Cliff Whitney, President of the company as well as its sister companies, said recently. “We are excited to see the first group of over 300 register and the first graduations happen. We have always been dedicated to the safe operation of these craft and it only makes sense to provide the tools UAV operators need to operate their aircraft safely. Via our various companies, we pride ourselves on providing everything both hobbyists and professionals need to fly, and the new UAV Ground School gives everyone a way to learn safe flight. I encourage everyone to watch the intro movie on our site and take the first lesson for free.”

In addition, volume licensing is available for organizations that would like to include the UAV Ground School in new or existing education programs. Several colleges and the industry-leading FlySafe training conference have already adopted the UAV ground school as an online component to their programs.
