The WavePoint 10e M2M wireless networking solution

FreeWave Technologies, Inc., an innovator of industrial-grade, secure M2M wireless networking solutions, today announced its new WavePointâ„¢ family of solutions for government and defense applications.

The WavePoint family offers high-speed connectivity to support bandwidth-hungry applications, is flexible enough to adapt to changing tactical needs, and also provides military-grade security capabilities. This new versatile wireless M2M communications architecture from FreeWave delivers secure, end-to-end, broadband wireless communications and is comprised of the multi-channel WavePoint 10e platform (released earlier this year) and several single channel WavePoint 20e modules being released throughout the remainder of 2014.

The comprehensive product suite supports command and control of unmanned systems, nuclear, biological and chemical remote sensing, dismounted soldier and vehicle tracking, unattended ground sensors, remote military infrastructure monitoring, guided parachutes for supply drops, perimeter security, remote target acquisition and more.

“With WavePoint’s high performance capabilities, government organizations and defense contractors can now take advantage of higher data rates, IP video and mobile mesh networking capabilities without sacrificing security or reliability,” explained Ashish Sharma, CMO of FreeWave Technologies. “We are proud to bring highly innovative wireless M2M communications solutions to market for our government and defense customers that have requested advanced capabilities to continue to improve soldier protection, military asset safety, increased government and ally security and more.”

The WavePoint 20e single channel modules come in multiple packages (both enclosed and board level) and its data links can operate in the frequency band that best suits the need of the application – whether 900 MHz, 1.3 GHz, 2.4 GHz, 4.4 GHz or other suitable spectrums. WavePoint is scalable and supports mesh, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networks and is equipped with the robust security and encryption features that ensure that mission-critical information is kept safe.

Additionally, FreeWave is showcasing its award-winning, FIPS 140-2 secured Spartan Series solutions available in 1.3 GHz and 2.4 GHz frequency bands for both Ethernet and serial communications. Spartan is combat-proven to communicate securely at ranges well beyond 60 miles, without fail.

At AUVSI 2014, please visit FreeWave Technologies’ booth (#1227) to see both the new WavePoint and Spartan Series solutions.
