CoroWare Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of CoroWare, Inc., have announced availability and pricing for the CoroBot® RA-144™ Robotic Arm, a powerful robot arm that complements the CoroBot smart unmanned ground vehicle (Smart UGV) and robotics development platform for researchers and educators.

The CoroBot RA-144â„¢ has a load capacity of 1.7 pounds (0.77 kilograms), provides an extended reach of 44 inches (1.18 meters), supports up to five degrees of freedom (including end effector), and weighs only 8 pounds (3.6 kilograms). CoroBot RA-144 contains two elbow joints which allows different configurations to lift different weights. The arm can bend one or both elbows, or move the shoulder to adjust its reach configurations.

“Robotics researchers and educators are looking for affordable robotic arms with a good reach and a payload to complete their projects within today’s budgetary constraints,” said Rayomand Vatcha, principal roboticist at CoroWare Technologies. “The CoroBot RA-144 was designed to be a versatile solution for both indoor and outdoor working environments.”

At the end effector, different kinds of sensors can be mounted readily for studying the objects in environments or a gripper can be added to manipulate objects. The gripper design can be customized as required by our customers.
