The Eagle Series GigE Vision Video Converters

Pleora Technologies and Moog Protokraft have announced a technology collaboration that facilitates high-performance video capture, streaming and control in harsh environment applications. The Eagle series RS-170 and Camera Link® to GigE Vision® video converters developed by Moog Protokraft address the growing demand for networked video in military, aerospace and other harsh environment applications. Combining Moog Protokraft’s advanced packaging, power and high speed interface designs with Pleora Technologies’ low–latency GigE Vision and GenICam™ compliant streaming technology delivers vision solutions that provide high bandwidth, small size and weight, reduced power consumption, increased reliability and lower system costs in extreme operating environments.

The two companies will be showcasing their Ethernet video solutions and technology collaboration at AUVSI’s Unmanned Systems 2013 in Washington DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from August 12-15 (booth#1713). “We’ve developed our hardware reference designs and structured our collaboration processes to accommodate rapid, low-risk design-in of GigE Vision compliant interfaces,” says George Chamberlain, President of Pleora Technologies. “Moog Protokraft’s implementation of our technology brings the benefits of GigE Vision to applications where it has been previously unavailable.”

“Moog Protokraft’s proficiency in high performance Ethernet switching and media conversion in harsh environments is a natural complement to Pleora Technologies’ expertise in video connectivity,” says Greg Boyer, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Moog Components Group. “Our strategic collaboration with Pleora Technologies helps our mutual customers quickly and more cost-effectively deliver vision systems that fully address bandwidth, size, power and reliability requirements for network video distribution in military and commercial aerospace platforms.”

Through their initial collaboration, Moog Protokraft and Pleora Technologies developed the Eagle series of RS-170 and Camera Link to GigE Vision video converters, which are both compatible with the Pleora eBUS™ SDK. Moog Protokraft designed the Eagle series video format converters with D38999 connector interfaces for military, aerospace, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components are designed for use in platforms where small size, weight reduction and resistance to dirt, dust and other contaminants are highly valued. The Moog Protokraft Eagle series of video format converters ensure seamless mechanical, electrical and software compatibility with the latest generation of GigE Vision software toolkits.
