NuWaves Engineering, an international Radio Frequency (RF) and Embedded Systems solutions provider, has been awarded a contract to design, develop, and fabricate a high-efficiency, lightweight Bidirectional RF Power Amplifier (PA). The new amplifier will augment the customer’s existing tactical communication systems, allowing for greater operational flexibility.

NuWaves will be funded from concept development to engineering prototype fabrication, followed by low-rate initial production (LRIP). NuWaves’ field-proven NuPower(TM) line of low size, weight, and power (SWaP) commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) PA modules will serve as the basis for the company’s custom design.

“NuWaves is pleased to be selected for our field-proven bidirectional RF PA designs,” said Jeff Wells, President and CEO of NuWaves Engineering. “Our commitment to providing quick-turn solutions and high-performance RF products to meet the evolving communication needs of the warfighter continues to be an invaluable asset for the DoD.”
